City Code Update for Snowblowing

The Draper City Council voted a couple of weeks ago to make snowblowing into the street unlawful.

From the Draper City website, under Municipal Code, Section 7-13-030-Real Property to be Kept Clean and Secured. www.draper.ut.us

Here's the code:

Section 7-13-030 Real Property to be Kept Clean and Secured. It is unlawful for any
person, corporation, partnership or other legal entity owning or occupying real property in the City:

(a) to fail to maintain the height of weeds, as provided in Section 7-13-040 of this
Article, or its successor, on such property; or
(b) to fail to remove from the property any cuttings from such weeds, or any solid
waste, unsightly or deleterious objects or structure; or
(c) to fail to effectively secure any vacant structure after having been given written notice from the Department or an authorized inspector;
(d) to fail to remove or cause to be removed from the length and breadth of the entire sidewalk abutting such property all hail, snow or sleet falling thereon, within twenty-four hours after such hail, snow or sleet has ceased falling;
(e) to fail to maintain all park strip landscaping abutting such property in a safe and well-kept condition. Trash, other debris, and noxious weeds shall not be allowed to collect or grow in these areas;
(f) to place or deposit snow, ice or other material upon any City road or highway in such a manner as to interfere with the proper use of the same or in such a way as to obstruct travel or to endanger property or persons upon same; or
(g) to fail to maintain a three-foot clear space around the circumference of fire
hydrants, including the removal of trees, shrubs, trash and snow.
